-       Who was responsible for the marketing of LA Noire?

Lick Creative are proud to have created the Point of Sale campaign in support of smash hit game L.A. Noire.
It shot to the top of the all format chart for the week ending May 21 with an incredible 1.6 million units sold in a week.
The game is currently the sponsor for the Sky Movies Crime and Thriller channel on satellite TV and has numerous video on demand ads for UK services Sky Anytime, Box Office, 4OD and Blinkbox. TV spots are also scheduled to appear during high-profile Champions League soccer matches.
Alongside TV, a variety of websites including IGN, Game Spot, MSN and Empire magazine will be seeing a variety of online ads, and print media isn't escaping the marketing machine, either, with a cover placement on London newspaper the Evening Standard and prominent spots in daily papers The Guardian and The Times. And even the London Underground is getting involved, with a three-week poster campaign.
-       List all methods of marketing used to promote the game – consider viral and guerilla marketing techniques as well as more traditional methods.

Rockstar ran a competition to win a trip to Los Angeles to attend the Festival of Film Noir at the Egyptian Theatre (which is actually featured in-game as a location), take an Esotouric Black Dahlia bus tour, and play the game a month before its official release.

On 29 March 2011, Take 2 Interactive announced that L.A. Noire had been selected to be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival, the first videogame to be recognized by the festival. L.A. Noire was screened as a sixty minute long film on 25 April 2011, followed by a question and answer session on the game's story and the technology used to make the game.

On 6 June 2011, Rockstar published L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories, a collection of short stories from noted crime authors, all based on the L.A. Noire universe.
They placed poster on giant billboards, conduct advertisements on the most watched channels leaked gameplay, released trailers. Set up interviews with magazines.

An interview with IGN was released at the same time as they showed the game first time they On 21 January 2010, in a Question and Answer section on their blog, Rockstar said "There will be something great to see soon – a proper in-depth look at the game and why it is so ground-breaking and innovative, both in terms of the game's design and the amazing new technology to support it. Expect to see a long-awaited reveal via a big cover story next month."[

-       Were there any particular deals struck between Rockstar and the platforms?
No as the game was released at the same time, but PC was released month later as the game had to be revamped to work.

-       How was desire creation built around the game before its release?

-       How have Rockstar maximized their potential revenue streams?

Released DLC, sold the La Noire as a package deal with the specific console PS3 and XBOX 360. Also released many T-shirts, mugs and figurines.

-       How can you access/purchase the game?
From supermarkets, Such as Tesco and ADSA.
On auction websites or site like Ebay or amazon
Also for PC it is release on a software called Steam. The software allows the player to purchase product from home and download remotely, this is not currently available for 7th gen consoles as La noire is too big.  


-       What are the implications of gatekeeping for the target audience?
It help protect children of a young age  from material that could be construed as traumatic
-       Once you have purchased the game how have Rockstar maintained the desire creation?
